Amazing! we can now scan real world objects into 3D meshes using an off the shelf line laser and a webcam (I used the Ps3 eye cam)... The goal is to get a good enough rig to scan hand crafted sculptures, then enhance in zbrush/3D paint...... To be continued...
This is the basic setup concept...below that are my first very rough results...
grabbed some stuff off a shelf..a cat sculpture and a buddha...the cat is just a fast rough front only scan, the buddha is a 4 sided scan...
